What is Net OS? I use this term to describe those operating systems that are built for around the internet.
I like the slogan of a net OS, xPUD – “shortest path to the cloud“. A net OS does not have many functions, but it is powerful. It brings web apps and online services to the user as directly as possible. Without the hassle of loading redundant drivers, system checks, virus scanning, enabling firewall… the OS can boot up in seconds.
This Net OS series contains introductions and reviews of these operating systems, including Chrome OS, Jolicloud, BrowserLinux and xPud. If you know any system not covered here, please do not hesitate to let me know. Thanks! :)
