Google Doodle – 2012 London Olympics

As the London Olympics begins today (27 July 2012), it follows naturally that Google replaced its doodle with an Olympic one.  People in different countries should expect to see this doodle when 27 Jul comes in their local time.

This doodle shows five athletes of different sports (soccer, swimming, running/jumping, fencing and javelin throw) with the “Google” word held by them.  There is also a basketball which does not fit in anyone in the doodle.  While there are five athletes I should expect to see them dressing in 5 different colors same as the Olympics logo.  Interestingly, black is missing and replaced by white.

The London Olympics is the 30th modern Olympic Games.  Over 10,000 athletes from 200+ countries will participate in 300+ events.  It starts today and will be closed on 12 August 2012, with some first-round football matches held earlier than the opening ceremony due to time limitation.  Most of the Games would be aired on TV while you should also be able to find ways to enjoy them on the internet.  Some TV networks such as NBC provides live coverage, you may search for other means of watching Olympics online by live streaming.  The full schedule of the Games could be found here.
