Today’s featured web app is Strike, a online list creator. It is probably the simplest tool for creating a list on the web. No account registration needed, intuitive control, clean screen… it has all the elements of a successful web app. Let’s see how great it is.

To begin, just enter the list’s name
Yes, how simple it is. Just enter the name of your list on the main page of Strike and hit Create a List. No need to go through the log-in or registration process. Your list has a unique URL.

You will be taken to your list. Knowing that first time users may not know how to use it, Strikeapp provides a simple tutorial here. They are the default items on your list. Just follow these items to act and you learned how to use Strike.
Basic Operation
Nothing could be simpler than using Strike:
- Add a task by typing it in the text box and click Add Task >>
- Mark completion by checking the box before each item
- Delete an item by throwing it to the left or right
- Re-order by dragging and dropping
Clean Interface
Knowing that people like choices, the list and completed items could be displayed in three different styles. Completed items could be hidden, marked strikethrough or place at the end of the list.

There are six themes to choose from, including two texture background wallpapers (wood and sky) and four pure colours. All of them looks nice.
More to Explore
There are more features of this web app such as group lists and collaboration, available upon upgrading. Currently this requires a registration for the private release, while pricing is uncertain, so I’ll leave it to you to explore.
If you have been following my work Monday productivity web app reviews, probably you would know that I like web apps with clean design (yes I’m kind of minimalistic). Like many other web apps such as do it tomorrow, thoughtboxes and Sandglaz, Strike can help users to empty their minds and focus on the work.
The potential use of Strike is endless. You can use it as a to-do list manager, a simple note taking app, a bookmark (each web site an item) or a list of ex-boy/girl friends…. Explore more by yourself!
